Learning Should Be Fun

Here is an example of how learning should be fun: Recently, at circle time, the children had difficulty concentrating on the teacher. The children all wanted to see the ladybug that was crawling on the window, so the teacher stopped her lesson and focused on teaching the children about the ladybug. The teacher asked the children to count the spots and how many wings and legs the ladybug had. Some of the things the group discussed were the ladybug’s family, where they live, and what they eat.

That’s the kind of teaching moment we celebrate — one where curiosity leads, and real learning follows naturally.

Creative Childcare Academy and Camp offers private schooling in a homeschool atmosphere, with an emphasis on the basics. Our “home is where the heart is” curriculum focuses on reading, writing, and arithmetic, science, literature, art, language arts, history and geography, spelling and poetry, penmanship, health and fitness. Children are taught manners and respect for nature, which carry over into how they treat humans.

Our Preschool program focuses on language development, music and movement, songs and finger plays, colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet, phonics, sign language and foreign languages. Our philosophy is that learning should be fun and preschool academics are taught through games.
