Junior-Kindergarten
Academic-Based, Focused on Reading, Writing and Arithmetic
Our curriculum has a phonics-based foundation with an emphasis on science, Social Studies, literature, art, language arts, history and geography, spelling and poetry, penmanship, health, and fitness. Children are taught respect for nature, which in turn carries over to their learning to respect all people in all environments. Class size is 10 children per teacher for individualized attention.
Our creative academic curriculum is designed to provide a balanced education for your child, with active, engaging experiences that stimulate their intellectual curiosity.
Example of our curriculum:
Letter-sound recognition — building the building blocks of reading
Blending and segmenting sounds — early decoding skills for reading fluency
Sight word introduction — recognizing common high-frequency words
Rhyming and phonemic awareness activities — strengthening auditory processing skills essential for reading
Beginning writing skills — connecting phonics to early penmanship and spelling
Read-aloud and story time — modeling fluent reading and building vocabulary
Kindergarten readiness skills — preparing children with the reading, writing, and listening foundations needed for a smooth transition to Kindergarten
All of our preschool programs are led by experienced teachers in a creative, well-equipped classroom environment. Educational lesson plans emphasize reading readiness and math concepts.
You will be apprised of your child’s progress. All pre-k, student assessments are conducted to chart your child’s progress. We also hold Parent-Teacher Conferences so that you may review your child’s progress with his or her teacher.
