Pre-School Programs at Creative Academy Childcare & Camp
Our Preschool program for ages 2-5 is a progressive readiness program to prepare your child for entrance into public school. Everything at Creative Academy Childcare & Camp is geared to your child’s specific age level, and differentiation between children is stressed within a loving environment. Each Preschool program includes phonics, math, language arts, library skills, science, social studies, art, and small manipulative (to foster hand-eye coordination). Our Preschool program focuses on language development, music and movement, songs and finger plays, colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet, phonics, sign language, and foreign languages. Our philosophy is that learning should be fun; as result, a lot of our preschool academics are taught through games.
All of our preschool programs are conducted by experienced teachers within a creative and well equipped classroom environment. Educational lesson plans emphasize reading readiness and math concepts. As in any program at Creative Child Care, you will be apprised of your child’s progress. At the preschool level student assessment is conducted to chart your child’s’ progress. We also hold Parent Teacher Conferences so that you may go over your child’s specific preschool progress with his or her teacher. We currently have two locations to serve you
Here is an example of how learning should be fun: Recently at circle time the children had difficulty concentrating on the teacher. The children all wanted to see the lady bug that was crawling on the window sill so the teacher stopped her lesson and focused on teaching the children about the lady bug. The teacher read a story about the lady bug and asked the children to count the spots and how many wings and legs the lady bug had. Some of the things the group discussed where the lady bug’s family and where they live and what they eat. Active and engaging experiences promote children’s natural curiosity and make learning fun.
