Four Year Olds at Creative Academy Childcare & Camp
By age four, your preschooler is fast becoming a confident, independent learner. At Creative Childcare, this program continues to promote imagination, creativity, and exploration while at the same time putting more emphasis on concepts such as phonics, reading, and math. Your child is still at play, but at this step, a more structured learning environment is introduced to prepare for that big step into the kindergarten classroom. Children master the foundation skills they will need to excel in school.
Four year olds are also exposed to children’s literature, where stories are told, illustrated, and acted out, and math, by using objects in your child’s environment to relay the concepts of numbers and counting. Monthly, weekly, and daily activities keep our curriculum fun and focused. Our strong literary based approach teaches reading readiness through Letter of the Week, work books, music, rhymes, stories and songs, and finger play. Our learning center also promotes creative writing by expressing ideas on storyboards. Children still utilize learning centers as well to explore and to play.
Your four year old begins to grow in our creative preschool setting. Our activities further your child’s development in math, reading readiness, language development and listening skills, science, writing poetry, and social interaction, all necessary skills which pave the way for a smooth transition into kindergarten.
The following enrichment classes are included in the weekly tuition music and movement, art appreciation, cooking for fun, introduction to German, computer lab, sign language, beginners Spanish.
Children participate in daily outside play on our state of the art playground or the bounce house in our multipurpose room so even on rainy days or hot or cold days children are able to participate in active play. The playground and Bounce House are the children’s favorite activities.
